Another question is - in what way does the professional system and services represent general attitudes towards the other? And what skills are required to get the information we need if we are not in academia? Living on Gabriola Island I am aware of very different attitudes and information than when I lived in Abbotsford where the news source was geared to the bible belt but not necessarily representing educated and thoughtful Christians (the Muslim family left and there were only a few Jewish families there.
