From Ceasefire.ca - Canada seeks more arms customers


The end of Canadian combat operations in Afghanistan and cuts to defence budgets in the US and allied nations are driving the federal government to look to other potential buyers. Ceasefire. 

“Rather than helping companies chase arms deals from questionable customers, the government should be helping these companies refocus their business away from declining defence markets toward more promising commercial markets,” Steve Staples.

  1. We need to change our federal government! Mr. Harper's insistence on mirroring the attitudes and actions of the right-wing in the USA will destroy our social fabric. Oil, guns, prisons, get tough on ____, attacks on science - all of this does not bode well for Canada.

  2. I agree Bob. This is a sinister age - civil society that has taken generations of knowledge and reflection to establish is being eroded. How do we reach out to the people who have been conditioned to see wealth as being the sum of our material possessions?
